How funny, He had to push me into letting Him bless me!

As a church we meet every Wednesday night to worship, dive into the Word of God and teaching, as well as prayer and fellowship. Last Wednesday the 17^th of October my home group wasn’t able to make it. So, I was given the opportunity of joining another group.

My only problem was that I didn’t feel like going to home group. I was tired, had a really long day at uni, and could only think about the big essay due the next day by 2pm. After confirming that my group wasn’t able to make it, I decided that I would use this time as a chance to work on my assignment and that I would watch the DVD on ‘Communion with God’ by Mark & Patti Virkler later.

In walks my Mum! A mighty woman of God, who was in no way about to let me miss out on what God had for me that evening.

As my Mum was pushing me to get ready, call the other Home Group leader and confirm that I was actually coming, I realised God was really trying to get me off my backside and on my way to home group.

“And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24-25 (NKJV)

Well, I finally went. I had such a deep experience with God and was totally refreshed, having learnt and heard A LOT from God, personally and through others. Regarding my stress over my assignment, God had said while at home group “It is finished” and separately “I will do it”, going home I stood on what God had given me, being full of faith (believing, not trying to believe but knowing that it is).

Once at home, God gave me the ability to complete the majority of my assessment, writing 1 148 words by 3am which is only 5 hours by the time I began working after home group. I was writing my assignment like I never had before; it was really God through me. I even thought of going to bed at 2am, but I felt the urge to stick at it a bit longer. So, I said “God, I want to finish this next section in an hour, by 3am”. I wrote 358 words and finished literally at 3am on the dot!

So the next morning, I wanted to start my day a fresh in the flow of the Spirit, coming to Jesus that I may work out of His rest. This seems so completely opposite from the world’s thinking, which says work then rest. God is so good, I didn’t even have to do it in my own strength!

Where it all began ...

It all began this morning at about 9am, as I was writing down different things God was sharing with me I began to think about the possibility of sharing the exciting things God was showing me with others.

After running my idea past someone else, I decided why not ... so here I am. This is my first ever real blog. I had to do one for an assignment at university but it was really just an assignment. 

I want this blog to be interesting, different, enlightening, and more. I will share what God has been saying, doing and really who He is. Well, as much as I know at the moment.

I am a born again Christian (if you want to know what I mean by that just ask) who believes in the one true God and His Word (the Bible). Jesus Christ is my LORD and saviour, and I love the Holy Spirit for revealing the deep things of God!

True Christianity is exciting, challenging, rewarding, fulfilling and so much more. In one word it is a RELATIONSHIP.
